Chief of Staff—Shriners Hospitals for Children—Chicago, IL

Shriners Hospitals for Children offers an opportunity to see a varied and unique pathology supported by a very strong and loyal staff of both medical professionals and volunteers while living the Shriners Mission of advancing quality care, providing education, and conducting research. We have a strong team-based approach to care led by 4 full-time Board Certified and Fellowship trained Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeons. Our Chief of Staff will maintain a clinical practice as patient care is our first priority. Leadership responsibilities will include overseeing the core complement of physician and mid-level staff, speaking on a local and national level, expanding outreach efforts, working closely with the local Shrine Board of Governors, and furthering our new affiliation with the University of Illinois at Chicago. Our staff hold additional academic appointments at leading Chicago institutions. In Chicago, our core specialties are orthopedics, comprehensive rehabilitation, and plastics (e.g. cleft lip cleft palate). We have a robust teaching program with 6 orthopedic residents, 2 physiatry residents, and both a hand and spine fellow as well as a research department with over 60 active projects. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years' experience, a collaborative approach, a vision for growth, and the business acumen to implement new service lines and grow existing ones as we look to the future. Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery and completion of a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery fellowship required.
