Expand your knowledge in a new field of medicine as a scribe trainer. The Scribe Trainer will travel to CEP America’s contracted sites for on-Site scribe training. This position will provide training to our scribes working in various departments with CEP physicians. The position provides support to site leadership (Onsite Assistant and Physicians) by helping coordinate initial training for the scribes, conducting didactic training, floor training, and serving as an expert for the new scribes. The Scribe Trainer will facilitate scribe program communication to the Implementation Specialist and serve as a resource to share best practices and implement CEP America objective and initiatives. The Scribe Trainer will participate in ongoing training projects with CEP America.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to…

  • Travel to Hospital sites to help implement a new scribe program
  • Establish relationships with facility staff and scribes
  • Conduct didactic classroom training, which includes medical terminology, EMR documentation, History of Present illness (HPI) writing tutorials, and scenarios
  • Provide competency exams to scribe trainees to assess advancement into the clinical practice phase
  • Facilitate clinical practice shifts for each scribe trainee and assist in completion of an orientation checklist to determine that the trainee is competent to perform all duties required to work on his/her own
  • Ensure precision of each trainee by providing constructive feedback
  • Perform “demonstration” shifts with the site physicians
  • Create onsite training schedule in coordination with team
  • Contact newly hired scribes via email and phone to coordinate training schedule
  • Conduct onsite assessment of equipment needed for documentation
  • Be a resource for training questions or concerns after start-up is complete
  • Participate on projects with the scribe trainer team as needed

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have…

  • Must have scribe experience
  • Experience training other scribes
  • At least one year commitment
  • Experience documenting in electronic medical records
  • Strong writing skills; legibility and spelling proficiency required
  • Solid computer skills in windows environment
  • Quick and accurate typing speed (60WPM)
  • Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills; must be a team player
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Must be able to pass hospital specific work requirements i.e. drug screen, TB test, physical exam
  • Be able to travel to CEP America sites based off availability
